Radvilos stew

Radvilos stew

Who is Radvilos already knows both big and slightly bigger. However, it is very interesting what the kitchen of these nobles was like. Maybe it was no different from our current kitchen?

Radvilos stew is an everyday dish of nobles. This is a historical beef stew made according to an authentic recipe. The most common question is why beef? After all, today we are used to consuming completely different meat. In those days, it was believed that eating beef would make you strong like an ox. It was the bull that was associated with endurance and strength. Another interesting thing is that the nobles of the 16th century potatoes were grown like nursery flowers, so you won't find them in the stew. Potatoes at that time were best represented by turnips or kohlrabi, which are also quite rare in today's cuisine. Well, the fact that the dish really belonged to the kitchen of the nobles is revealed by a few more ingredients: lime, dry wine and spices. And that's not all. We invite you to taste this unusual stew and learn more about the Radvil cuisine of that time.
