It is said that in 1863, Saint John of Nepomuk saved the rebels who were retreating through Molėtai towards Kaunas and stayed overnight at the Siesartis stream. The first monument to the savior was carved out of wood in 1925, but in 1951 it was demolished and thrown into the Pravalas lake. The current one was rebuilt in 1991 by V. Jurevičius.
